Maria Claudia is a dual-qualified lawyer, admitted to practice in Brazil (OAB/PR) and France (Barreau de Paris).

Maria Claudia is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and Vice-Chair of the Latin American and Iberian Chapter of the ICC Institute of World Business Law since 2018. She is also a member of the ICC Latin American Arbitration Group and the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (ICC YAF), having served as the ICC YAF representative for the United Kingdom and Portugal from 2017 to 2019.

Maria Claudia features in the list of arbitrators of the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CAM-CCBC), the Centro Brasileiro de Mediação e Arbitragem (CBMA), the Câmara de Arbitragem do Mercado, the Centro de Arbitraje y Conciliación de la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, the London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation (LCAM), and the Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA). She is also a member of the International Commission for the Scrutiny of Awards of the Centro Internacional de Arbitraje de Madrid (CIAM).

She is a mentor under the mentorship program for women of the Club Español de Arbitraje and the Queen Mary University of London ADR Mentorship Scheme.

She is a member of the board of the Latin American Arbitration Practitioners in Europe (LATAP), and a member of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr), the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG), and the Asociación Latinoamericana de Arbitraje (ALARB), being a representative of the ALARB Siguiente Generación for the United Kingdom since 2021.
